Refund Policy

Summary in plain language

7-day free trial, no charge if you cancel during it. After that, monthly billing — you can cancel any time and keep Pro until the period ends. We'll refund within the first 14 days of a paid charge if you're not happy. EU/UK customers have an additional 14-day statutory withdrawal right.

1. Free trial

Every new Pro subscription includes a 7-day free trial. We do not charge your payment method during the trial. You can cancel any time during the trial and you will not be billed.

2. Standard refund window (all customers)

If you cancel within 14 days of your first paid charge, we will issue a full refund of that charge — no questions asked. Email billing@genechecklist.com with your account email and we will process it within 5 business days.

3. EU / UK statutory withdrawal right

If you are a consumer resident in the EU or UK, you have a right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive (EU) / Consumer Rights Act (UK) within 14 days of subscribing, even after using the Service during that period. To exercise this right, email billing@genechecklist.com stating your intent to withdraw. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 days.

Note: by starting the Service immediately during your trial or after your first charge, you agree that we may begin providing the digital service before the withdrawal period expires. You acknowledge that doing so does not waive your right to a refund within the windows above.

4. Monthly subscription cancellation

After the standard refund window, monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period. When you cancel:

  • You will not be billed again.
  • You keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period.
  • After that, your account reverts to the Free plan automatically (your lists remain, but Free plan limits apply).

5. How to cancel

From your dashboard → Account Settings → Cancel subscription. The cancellation takes effect immediately for billing (no further charges) but Pro access continues until the period ends.

6. Exceptions and edge cases

  • Service outage — if the Service is unavailable for more than 24 consecutive hours, we'll prorate or extend your subscription as appropriate.
  • Accidental duplicate charges — refunded automatically once identified.
  • Account termination for Terms violation — non-refundable.
  • Chargebacks — please contact us before issuing a chargeback; we resolve most issues directly within 48 hours.

7. How refunds are issued

Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe. Most banks credit refunds within 5–10 business days; some take up to one billing cycle.
