Acceptable Use Policy

Don't be a jerk, don't break the law, don't try to break the service. Violations get accounts suspended.

1. What this covers

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements our Terms of Service and applies to anyone using GeneChecklist — Free, Pro, or guest. We may update it at any time; continued use means acceptance.

2. You agree NOT to use the Service to:

2.1 Illegal activity

  • Violate any applicable law (local, state, federal, or international).
  • Plan, facilitate, or promote acts of violence or terrorism.
  • Distribute material that infringes intellectual property rights.
  • Engage in fraud, money laundering, or any form of financial deception.

2.2 Harmful or abusive content

  • Harass, threaten, dox, or stalk any person.
  • Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, or incites violence on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or similar protected characteristics.
  • Post sexually explicit material involving minors. We report such content to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and local authorities.
  • Post non-consensual intimate imagery.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.

2.3 Spam and abuse

  • Send unsolicited promotional emails through our share-by-email feature.
  • Use the Service to host or redirect to phishing, scam, or malware pages.
  • Create multiple accounts to evade limits, bans, or pricing.
  • Trade, sell, or rent accounts.

2.4 Technical abuse

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code.
  • Bypass, defeat, or circumvent rate limits, paywalls, or security mechanisms.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to access the Service without our written permission.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service except via a coordinated disclosure (see security@genechecklist.com).
  • Generate AI requests in bulk via scripts, headless browsers, or shared accounts.
  • Knowingly upload viruses, worms, trojans, or other malicious code.

2.5 Misuse of AI features

  • Submit prompts intended to generate harmful, illegal, or deceptive content.
  • Use AI output to impersonate medical, legal, financial, or other licensed professionals.
  • Republish AI suggestions as if they were authoritative or verified facts.

3. Reporting violations

If you see content that violates this policy, email abuse@genechecklist.com with the share link and a brief description. We respond within 72 hours and faster for content involving minors or imminent safety risk.

4. Enforcement

We may, at our discretion and without prior notice:

  • Remove or hide content that violates this policy.
  • Suspend or terminate the offending account.
  • Block specific IPs or networks.
  • Report violations to law enforcement.
  • Pursue civil action where damages have occurred.

Refunds are not provided for accounts terminated due to AUP violation.

5. Appeals

If you believe your account was suspended in error, email appeals@genechecklist.com with your account email and a description. We aim to respond within 7 business days.
